* times are estimated

The delivery date is determined by the transit time you estimate. You will be given an estimated arrival date once your order has been dispatched. Recognize that pinpointing an exact day and time for delivery is difficult. Weather, traffic, and other vehicle loads can all have an impact.

Delayed delivery

Rain, snow, high winds, and other weather conditions may occur along your route. Weather conditions may cause delivery to be delayed in these cases.
We’ll send you a “dispatch notification” with the estimated pick-up/loading date and the trucker’s phone number once a truck has been assigned/dispatched. The trucker will usually call you a few hours before delivery to let you know when he will be arriving at your address. On request, special arrangements can be made.
Both yes and no. You are not required to be present, but if you are unable to be present, it is highly recommended that you have a representative present at both pickup and delivery. The representative must be over the age of eighteen. You or your representative must inspect the vehicle at both pickup and delivery and note any damage on the Bill of Lading before signing it. You’ll look for any pre-existing damage at pickup, and you’ll note any new damage that occurred during transport at delivery.
Yes, before a trucker is assigned/dispatched to your order, you can change your ‘First Available Shipping Date.’
Up to one piece of luggage, such as a suitcase or a bag, weighing up to 100 pounds can be placed in the trunk for free.
The carrier’s cargo insurance does not cover personal items inside the car.
Please be aware that personal items may cause damage to the interior of your car as a result of possible shifting caused by road vibrations. The carrier’s cargo insurance policy does not cover any damages to the interior caused by personal items.
Yes, your vehicle is fully insured from the time it is picked up by a carrier until it is delivered. Every car shipping carrier is pre-screened to ensure they meet all insurance requirements set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The cost of insurance for your vehicle is determined by the vehicle’s value, the type of trailer used, and the company.

An open car transport carrier will typically provide cargo insurance coverage of $100,000 to $150,000. Cargo insurance coverage ranges from $250,000 to $3,000,000 on an enclosed auto transport carrier. On request, we can provide certificates of insurance from any carrier.

The situation is slightly different for Hawaii vehicle shipments, as they are subject to the insurance limitations of the ocean freight liner. Our shipping experts will be able to assist you.

At delivery, inspect the vehicle and if there are any damages, please:

  •  Note damages on the Bill of Lading/Vehicle Condition report
    • Get a copy of the delivery Bill of Lading from the trucker
    • Take pictures of the damage (on-site if possible)
    • Contact Ready for Transport to request trucker Certificate of Insurance
    • File a claim
Record of the vehicle condition at pickup and delivery

Bill of lading

A bill of lading is a detailed list of a shipment of goods given by the carrier to the person consigning the goods at pickup and delivery in the form of a receipt. It is frequently abbreviated as “BOL.” It is used in auto transport to record any existing external damage prior to transport as well as any new damage that occurs during transit and is noted at delivery. As a result, the most important document for insurance claims is this one.
  1. You and the trucker carefully inspect your vehicle for pre-existing scratches, dents, and other damage before loading it.
  2. There is a picture of the vehicle on the bill of lading form. All pre-existing damage is marked in the correct area of the image by the truck driver
  3. Tell the truck driver to record the current mileage of the vehicle at pick-up and again at drop-off
  4. The document must be signed by both the truck driver and you, and each must keep a copy
  5. If you disagree with the truck driver’s markings, please contact Ready for Transport at the time of pickup for assistance. 786-648-0031
  • It is your right to thoroughly inspect your vehicle upon delivery.
  • It is your right to note any problems with your vehicle on the bill of lading.
  • Even if there is a problem with the vehicle after the inspection, you must legally pay the trucker the transportation fare. Payment of freight charges and filing an insurance claim are two completely different things.

Damages are not a common occurrence in the shipping process, but they do occur. If they do, properly filling out this important document can save you a lot of time and stress while also ensuring that your insurance claim is successful. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ready for Transport at 786-648-0031, and one of our friendly representatives will be happy to assist you and ensure your safety.

  1. The truck driver must allow you to inspect your vehicle again at the time of delivery.
  2.  If your vehicle has any new scratches, dents, or other damages, you must note them on the bill of lading in the appropriate area of the image and write an exact description of the NEW damage in the field for exceptions/comments. Taking pictures at delivery, just like at pickup, is highly recommended, especially if there is new damage. It’s also a good idea to take several pictures.
  3. Both the truck driver and you should sign the document AFTER the inspection, and each must keep a copy.
  4. If there is a balance due for your shipment after the inspection, you must legally pay the trucker, even if there is a problem with the vehicle. Payment of freight charges and filing an insurance claim are two completely different things.
  5. If there is a disagreement or the trucker insists on doing things differently at the time of delivery, please contact Ready for Transport so we can help. 786-648-0031 is our phone number.

Gasoline should be present in the vehicle’s tank. Ideally, a quarter of the tank.
This is the date on which your vehicle will be available for pickup. This, however, is not always the exact pick-up date. We may be able to assign a truck to load your vehicle on your First Available Shipping Date, but it could also be a few days later, depending on truck availability at the time. If we are unable to pick it up that day, it must be picked up within our normal pick-up window of one to five business days beginning on that date. See the pick-up date and time for more information.
No. You will pay Ready for Transport and not the driver with credit or debit card, Zelle, Paypal, Cashapp, Venmo, or wire transfer. When the carrier arrives, your transport representative will contact you and walk you through the payment process.

If you choose our discounted price option and elect to pay the transportation cost at delivery in exchange for a lower rate. Cashapp, Venmo or bank transfers. Truckers do not accept payments because they do not have the necessary equipment to process them.
It depends on the status of your order:

Not dispatched order
Your payment is fully refundable if your order has not been assigned (dispatched) for loading.

Dispatched order
Your payment is refundable, less a $200 service fee or the amount of your partial payment, whichever is less, if your order has been assigned (dispatched) for loading and driver arrives to your pick up location. As soon as your order is shipped, you will receive an email notification. We have already made a reservation for your vehicle at this time.
Payment in the form of Cashapp, Venmo, Zelle or bank transfers are acceptable. Payment with credit card, debit, or paypal are subject to a higher price due to the fees charged by these merchant service providers. We’ll tell you who to transfer money to if you choose to pay by Cashapp, Venmo, Bank transfer, or Paypal.
This is determined by the car shipping service you select. It will be an open or enclosed trailer that will transport several vehicles.
No, Ready for Transport only provides door-to-door auto transport, which means that vehicles are not dropped off or picked up at a terminal. If the road is narrow or there are low-hanging trees, customers may need to meet a trucker near the pickup or delivery location. The trucker will still get as close as legally and safely possible in these situations. If you live in a rural area that is accessible but out of the way, you can meet the trucker near an interstate or a major city to save money on transportation. This is not a requirement for rural areas, but rather an option.
We recommend that you clean the car thoroughly so that any existing damage is clearly visible. Remove all personal items, especially valuables. If the vehicle has any external modifications that can be removed, such as a roof rack, they should be removed and stored inside the vehicle if they fit. Cover or wrap your driver seat and driver-side floor mat as a precaution in case the trucker brings dirt into the vehicle while loading or unloading. Remove any automatic toll devices and turn off any security devices that could cause problems for the trucker when loading or unloading the vehicle. Finally, leave a quarter tank of gas in the vehicle to ensure that there is enough gas for loading and unloading but not so much that the vehicle begins to add extra weight.
Make sure the car’s exterior is clean so the trucker can inspect it thoroughly for any existing scratches or dings. Remove all personal items from it. Remove any non-permanent luggage, bike or ski racks, and any loose parts attached to the body.
Yes, a trucker must be paid in full for services rendered, as required by federal law. Paying the trucker in full is also in your best interests. If you withhold part or all of the trucker’s payment, he or she can legally keep the vehicle until all fees are paid. But don’t worry, we’re here to assist you! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any problems.
